What the Client Needed

LAAHA (Learning About Adolescent and Humanitarian Aid) needed a digital platform designed to educate and support women and girls worldwide — especially those in vulnerable or low-connectivity environments. Their priority went beyond performance: the platform had to protect user safety, ensure discreet browsing, and remain fully accessible to diverse audiences.

The objective was clear: build a modern, headless Drupal platform that is fast, safe, inclusive, multilingual, and simple for editors to manage at scale.

Our Path to the Solution

We combined Drupal’s robust backend capabilities with a decoupled, React-based frontend to deliver a flexible, multilingual content experience. This architecture empowered LAAHA to publish interactive content, videos, podcasts, and guides while maintaining strict safety and accessibility requirements.

Key implementations included:

  • Interactive “Tours” Feature — guided user onboarding that introduces visitors to key sections while supporting a safe, low-pressure learning journey.
  • “Exit Website” Safety Button — instantly redirects users to a neutral external page, protecting privacy in sensitive or at-risk environments.
  • Multilingual & Accessible Content — WCAG-aligned design, screen-reader compatibility, RTL support, and inclusive UX for global audiences.
  • API-Driven Content Delivery — optimized for speed, mobile use, and low-bandwidth regions to ensure universal access.
  • Custom Drupal Content Models — structured components for articles, podcasts, and media, fully integrated with a dynamic React frontend.

The Outcome

The final platform is a secure and empowering learning environment used by women and girls across the world. The combination of guided onboarding, privacy-focused features, and multilingual accessibility created a meaningful digital impact.

  • A safe and trusted space for accessing sensitive content.
  • Seamless experience across languages, devices, and connectivity levels.
  • “Tours” feature boosted onboarding and user confidence.
  • “Exit Website” functionality strengthened safety and user trust — praised by humanitarian partners.
  • Editors gained full control using structured Drupal workflows and intuitive media tools.

“LAAHA’s digital platform is more than a website — it’s a lifeline. WeBevra gave us the tools to make safety and accessibility a digital reality.”
